The funding aspects are very different although the same in that funding is needed. For example, the United States has funding for well beyond basics where Africa needs funding just for schooling for children before Kindergarten .
I chose to look at the following website more indepth:
European Early Childhood Education Research Association (EECERA): This international early childhood organization publishes a well respected journal. All back issues are accessible from this site and are fully searchable without charge.

The research topics that are profiled on this website are dramatic play as it relates to academics, the dynamics of early childhood spaces and the benefits of outdoor play. There is a side bar that easily allows the topics to be viewed. However, I don't think the articles are accessible without a subscription. One particular article that talks about research that includes children would have helped gain more understanding of the last few weeks of work within our class.
It seems to me that this is a very valuable website. The Board of Directors includes people from all over the globe. I think this is a very good way to get a global perspective on the Early Childhood Field.
I have included a link to subscribe to a newsletter:
http://www.eecera.org/
It is recognized as one of the most prestigious early childhood journals in the world. I think it is worthwhile in staying ahead of the trends and issues that confront our work.
