Creating a team that takes on meaning is the best team. Sometimes group efforts can seem to go nowhere. I can think of far more groups that have done nowhere than group that have gone somewhere. The groups that are stagnant seem like time wasters. There are too many people that I recognize as blockers or avoiders. The lack of common collaborative vision is another time waster. The small times that I have been apart of a highly qualified group of people it seems that recognition of these small obstacles keep the flow of the agenda going smoothly. The idea of adjourning is not necessarily paired with sadness as there was great satisfaction in the work being done.
I do think that leaving the colleagues here will be difficult in that it marks the end of a normal. I do not know everyone personally but I have gotten to know them by reading what they think about things, hearing parts of their lives and relevant work experiences. This has been my norm for 18 months. It would be nice to adjourn this collaboration with a ceremony such as graduation. This marks finality and closure.
