It isn't the end...it is the beginning! Thank you to all of you!

Research has shown us then what are we waiting for?

My work with ACE's has shown me the value of the early years. The child is born perfect. We are the layers of the foundation when we give and withhold experiences. Be a brain builder with a child.
I always felt I have a different heart than others in regard to children. From the baby to the teen, my heart loves them all.
Play is the work of the child. Don't be an obstacle to this in their day.
I want to help keep the momentum going with state and federal government. I want to continue to be heard as a voice for the children.
As a student in the MS program at Walden my life was slowly transformed with every class and every professor.  Prior to becoming a student I would say I was a good leader and a hard worker as well as a good teacher. Now, I am a passionate, understanding, visionary leader with a strong understanding of what is expected of me in this field. I have learned to welcome and accept families from diverse backgrounds.I have learned how to think organically without prejudices and stereotypes. This process was probably the most rewarding.  I have also learned what it takes to create programs and how to be more intentional in this process. I have learned how to be a collaborative leader that gives my team credit. This program has made me successful inside as well as out. It has been life changing.
My long term goal is actually to make a huge impact on the policy and government involvement in the Early Learning field. The biggest issue is teacher salaries. There needs to be equity in this area. The research backs the early years as the most important yet we are putting them with uneducated, minimum wage workers. This is not fair to the children nor the families. I want to work on professionalizing the work that we do. I also want to touch and inspire educators across the board to be intentional as well as being a life long learner. The early childhood field is different now thanks to heartfelt research by devoted professionals.

I also want to continue my work with inclusion. Each child, by birthright is perfect.

Last, but most importantly I would like to thank Dr. Darragh. She has been so helpful in her role as educator. She has been thoughtful, honest, available through this capstone and through the wonderful world of collaboration in the early childhood field. Thank you! I appreciate how much work you put into helping your students that really don't have a face but you are equally committed to helping us succeed. Thank you so much!!
