More news from NAEYC

I have researched the NAEYC website in depth. I explored the WHERE WE STAND summaries. These were so interesting yet take a lot of time to go through. The list is very long and each summary has such rich content. The one I chose to explore was their standard on Professional Preparation. This is a long standing issue in the field. The standard promotes the need for supporting and developing the need for ongoing education for professionals. They are always updating and reviewing trends. They will make changes to the standards as things change.
Regarding the issues of equity and excellence in the field, NAEYC has much to say:
We cannot afford to postpone investing in children until they become adults, nor can we wait until they reach school age—a time when it may be too late to intervene. Learning is a dynamic process and is most effective when it begins at a young age and continues through adulthood.
