I chose to watch the Bachelor in Paradise. As the sound was off my eyes went to the non verbal cues. It seemed there was a lot of flirty and gestures that would indicate affection. However, there were some serious facial expressions that led me to believe that there were problems surfacing. There was hugging. There was laughing. I saw a girl put her head on a guy's shoulder, which indicated to me that they were a couple. Then with the sound on most of my perceptions were correct except the seriousness was not due to problems but of a dilemma of who should get the rose and who should be going home. So, it wasn't a problem, such as a break up, rather a deliberation of sorts. I found the fakeness of the interactions to be repulsing.
My aha moment came when I realized that we can say and act whatever way we want. However, it might not be an accurate reflection of who we really are inside.
